When a baby is born, we all start to show our love towards the little newborn.
I love babies..As for me, I draw the newborn attention by creating sounds. Haha...
When the baby look at me, Oh Gosh... I would feel that I had done it. The baby is looking at me.
She/he only want me. Yahoo...Ii feel so special and accomplished something in life.
I love that feeling. I even use the peek-a -boo game to make the baby play with me. Sometimes I even make silly looks to make the baby smile at me.
We all get excited when a new small life is brought into our life. All our attention will be towards them. We all want to communicate and be with them. But how?
Of course with toys!!!
So I start to search how toys actually related to childhood development. To my surprise toys playing a huge role in a child's life.
Let me share about my findings why toys are important and how they are actually helping child's development.
# Importance 1 Improve your child's language skill with toys!
Your newborn baby will start to speak baby language when you start play with them. They will start to make connection with you by making some sounds. Even though they don't understand us and we don't understand them, there will be a bonding between us. The more you be with them, your child will start to communicate faster with you. Communication doesn't meant that it should be in the form of speaking. It can be in the form of actions too. Have you ever notice your child talking to the toys? Even this habit will make them to communicate well.
#Importance 2 Cognitive Thinking
Children are so curious to find out how things working around them. I think not only children but me too...:P
For instance, they learn about gravity indirectly when they drop their toys accidently. When they know about it, they sure want to play it again and again. Of course they don't know the real meaning or how gravity works all but they understand what is gravity.
# Importance 3 Toys Develop Social Skills
Your child's world is so special. It is something that we don't understand much. Since they born, everything is new to them. they are so curious to learn the things around them and people around them. Just imagine when you meet a small child and you want to talk with her. but she hesitates or feel afraid of you. what you do? Of course you will offer something she likes or do something she love to do. Most of the time we will offer chocolates, sweets or toys. Then only she feels that you are friendly and willing to be with you. When she around with other children she start to share her toys and play with them together. This would the basic of developing social skill of your children. Soon they will be able to mingle around easily.
Problem solving ability is very important for your child in the future. The toys you bought for them will teach
# Importance 5 Toys allow children more creative
This is absolutely true. I'm sure all of you will agree with that. Just give a child a broom. In his hands it may became a witch broom, guitar or aliens. They are so creative. I still remember...... when I was a small girl, I used to take all the silver plates in our kitchen and make noises with that. It feel like I'm playing the drums.
# Importance 6 Understanding of size, shape, and texture
Nowadays there are lot of types of toys. I noticed a type toy where it can make your child teeth stronger. When they play with toys, they have to touch it and feel it. This helps them understand size, shape and texture of an object. Nowadays you can find a lot of educational toys which can help your children study while playing. For example some toys are attached with sound recorder. I used own one where when I touch the cow image a "moo" sound is created, while when i touch cat image "meow meow" sound is created. Its kinda of fun when play it. Here I should say this, children's ability to learn things through image, videos and sound are more effective compare to books. They will remember what they had studied for a longer period of time.
Now that we know the importance of toys..
Do we know what type of toys we should buy for our children to help them explore things around them?
Wait until my next post... :)
xoxo
