***COLOURS***

Our life is full of colours…if there is a life without colours it is called black and white...however we should know that black and white are also colours..

So let us learn something about colours..
Primary colours are colours that cannot be created by mixing any other colours.
When I was young, my teacher taught me that primary colours are red, blue and yellow..but now due to popular belief, there are actually two types of primary colours.
We can produce other colours based on these primary colours. Two basic methods used are additive primary colours and subtractive primary colours. Rainbow of colours are produced based on these two processes.
What are additive primary colours?
  • Colours that are associated with emitted light directly from a source before an object reflects the light.
  • Red, Green, Blue
What are subtractive primary colours?
  • Colours that are associated with reflected light
  • Red, Blue, Yellow

If all three of the additive colours were combined together in the form of light, they would produce white.
If all three of the subtractive primary colours were combined together, they would produce black.
